Summer Soccer Camp for Northern Manitoba Communities
Designed, organized, and delivered a summer soccer camp aimed at reducing barriers to sport participation for youth in Northern Manitoba communities. The program provided free or low-cost access to qualified coaching, equipment, and structured soccer programming in regions with limited sport resources. Key outcomes included increased physical activity, improved soccer skills, enhanced confidence and leadership among participants, and the creation of safe, inclusive environments that supported long-term engagement in sport. The camp strengthened community connections and contributed to sustainable youth development through sport.
Winter Holiday Camp - Rahma Community & Youth Centre Inc
December Holiday Soccer Camp – Rahma Community and Youth Centre Inc.
Organized and delivered a December Holiday Soccer Camp in partnership with Rahma Community and Youth Centre Inc., providing accessible soccer programming for youth during the winter break. The program removed financial barriers by offering structured soccer training led by qualified coaches, along with the provision of jerseys and necessary equipment for all participants. The camp created a safe, inclusive environment that promoted physical activity, skill development, teamwork, and positive social connections during a critical out-of-school period. The initiative supported youth well-being, increased sport participation, and strengthened community engagement through equitable access to organized sport.
International Soccer Equipment Access Initiative
International Equipment Donations – Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Nigeria
Coordinated the collection and distribution of donated soccer equipment to youth and community programs in Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Nigeria. The initiative focused on improving equitable access to sport by providing essential equipment to communities with limited resources. These donations supported grassroots soccer development, increased participation opportunities for youth, and strengthened international community partnerships through sport as a tool for inclusion, development, and social impact.
Free High Performance Morning Program
Designed and delivered a free high-performance morning training program aimed at increasing equitable access to advanced soccer development opportunities for youth athletes. The program provided structured, high-level soccer training and strength and conditioning sessions led by qualified coaches, reducing financial barriers for players seeking additional development outside of regular team environments.
Youth Mentorship Success
Adnan Al Masri
Adnan came to Canada from Syria at a young age, and soccer quickly became more than just a game—it became his safe space, his community, and his way to belong. He joined AK Soccer Academy at just five years old, and over the years, he has grown into a dedicated, resilient, and passionate player. Now in his final years of youth soccer, Adnan gives back to the academy that shaped him, working as a referee and coach to inspire the next generation. His journey is a testament to perseverance, courage, and the power of sport to create hope, opportunity, and a sense of family far from home.
Jolie Hanslip
Jolie joined AK Soccer Academy at a young age, discovering her passion and talent for the game early on. Through dedication, hard work, and countless hours on the field, she has grown into a skilled and determined player. Today, Jolie is excelling as a Division 1 soccer player, representing the academy’s values of commitment, leadership, and perseverance both on and off the field. In her spare time, she gives back by volunteering within the academy, inspiring younger players and helping to create the same supportive environment that helped her thrive.
